Side Spacers, End Dams, & Weep Baffles

Reed Rubber Products manufactures and stocks a complete line of storefront glazing components including side spacers, end dams, & weep baffles.

Anti-Walk Side Spacers ("W" Spacers)

Anti-Walk or “W” Spacers are used on the perimeter of storefront glass to prevent “walking” due to vibration, temperature and wind variation. Glass to metal contact leads to breakage and subsequent air and water leakage. The Anti-Walk or “W” Spacer is self supporting and prevents this from happening.

Simply follow these instructions:

  1. Cut the Anti-Walk or “W” Spacer to a length that considers the depth of your pocket minus the “bite” of the glass minus 1/8”.
  2. Slip “W” Spacer past glass bite.
  3. The “W” Spacer will then assume a “locked” position.

End Dams

End Dams slow the flow of water or air where the mullion meets the sill/head.
End Dams can be custom made from sponge rubber or extruded seals.

Weep Baffles

Weep baffles were first designed to reduce the whistling sound of wind passing through the weep holes of a window. Weep Baffles were discovered to have the added benefit of “weeping” moisture out while resisting any incoming moisture. Our Weep Baffles are made of open cell urethane foam with 30 pores per inch (30PPI) and resist the corrosive effects of acid rain.
